A hundred hearts...

   * Edit - this card made "the cream in our coffee" at the Play Date Cafe challenge! *
I just love this sentiment from Verve Stamps.  It makes me smile - and it truly sums up my love for DH of 33 years.  Kinda mushy, huh???  Yea...  : )   gotta love it!  This is the card I'll be giving to him for Valentine's Day.  Hmmm...I'm thinking now, that he might not appreciate all of that lace.  Well.  I didn't think about that until just now.  Too late.  It's staying put.
Anyway - on to the card.

When I saw the inspiration photo over at The Play Date Cafe (Challenge #62), I had to play along.  I am not a fan of the color pink, usually.  BUT, these shades of pink and rose...along with the neutrals are just beautiful.  I was inspired!  Here is the photo that I'm talking about:
Gorgeous, huh?

Here's my card.  I'm so pleased with this card!  I started out in a slightly different direction (which wasn't quite working.)  Once I changed out a couple of things...everything fell into place.  Love when that happens.
I'm including several photos.  It was difficult to capture all of the details in one photo.  To see a larger version, just click on a photo.

I started with a base of crumb cake card stock, then a layer of white.  I layered on some rose red - stamped with a few hearts in the same color.  I crimped a layer of crumb cake beneath the matting of rose red and regal rose.  I hand trimmed the rows of hearts on white cs, then popped on 2 rose colored pearls (for the two of us...I know...mushy again.)  I used a spellbinder heart around the the sentiment, sponging the cs with crumb cake ink before removing it from the die.  The lace that I used, is some that I bought at an estate auction last summer.  I LOVE using vintage lace on my cards.  I think that the whitewash on this SU brad is perfect for this card.
Thanks so much for stopping in to take a look.  Let me know what you think!
