Seize The Birthday: Anything Goes!

We've got a new challenge for you at Seize The Birthday.  This time...no toppings option.  So anything goes, as long as it's a birthday card (of course!).  You already knew that. :)

What you may not know, is that a member of our Design Team has a birthday today.

Jodene Tripp...Happy Birthday!!!
She's sweet and talented and we're so fortunate to have her on our team!
You can click on over to her blog Jodene's Cards & Creations to leave birthday wishes for her.

For my card, I was in the mood for something bright and sunny.  Patterns and the color orange are what I chose!

Yes.  It's bright.  And it makes me smile!  Isn't that triangle patterned paper fun?  I even snipped out 3 tiny triangles to scatter around my sentiment.  :)

I hope you'll play along with us.  Now click on over to the Seize The Birthday challenge blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has created for your inspiration!

Thanks for looking!

Seize The Birthday - White on White Topping

Yes, it's time for a new challenge at Seize The Birthday!  We have a Toppings option of White on White.  I was so excited to get working on today's card.  White on white is the perfect time to use either layers or textures.  Always fun, right?
You can choose to use our Toppings option OR anything goes...as long as it's a birthday theme.

My card.

For my card I used a shimmery card stock for the front panel of the card.  It's very subtle, but so pretty in real life.  If you click on the closeup photo, I think you'll be able to see it a little better.
I layered that die cut leaves panel over some bright white card stock, to have some contrast between the two.  For the sentiment panel and the tree die cut, I also used the bright white cs.

It was difficult to get a really good photo of this card, with so much white.  I probably should have used a dark background in my photo booth.

Okay now, click on over to the Seize The Birthday blog to see what the rest of the design team has created!

Supply list ~
Card stock: white (PTI), shimmery white (SU)
Stamps: quilled elegance (PTI)
Ink: onyx black (Versafine)

Hey There - CAS(E) this sketch

Hi!  Just a quick post to share a card I made for the challenge at CAS(E) this sketch #71.  This sketch by Gayatri is so fun!

I took the sketch literally this time, since I love using splatters.

I used the splatter stamps in PTI's Grunge Me stamp set to begin with.  Then I splattered a Chartreuse and Amethyst Heidi Swapp color shine onto the card.  It really does shine if the lighting is right.  If you click on a photo, for a closer look, you may be able to see it.
To finish, I stamped the sentiment onto a banner die cut.  I made 2 scores near each end, then folded the banner to give it some dimension.  That's about it.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies ~
Card stock: white (PTI)
Ink: lucky limeade (SU), onyx black Versafine
Stamps: grunge me (PTI), heartfelt mix (WPlus9)
Other: heidi swapp color shine in Amethyst & Chartreuse

Eggs - Our Beautiful World

No cards to share in this post, because I'm linking to Our Beautiful World Week 41 - Eggs.

I hope you'll click through to the OBW blog to see the gorgeous photos shared by the team.  All with the theme of Eggs this week.  Such amazing photography!

When I saw the theme for this week, I knew what I wanted to share.

This is an altered tea cup that I made as a gift.  I love using those tiny faux eggs...in a little nest, inside the cup.

Now that spring has finally arrived, here in Illinois, maybe I'll get the chance to see some Robin's eggs soon!

Peace be with you!
