Happy Mother's Day - Unscripted Sketches #155

Hello!  I've been busy at my craft table this weekend.  And it's been fun :)  There are so many other tasks that I should be tending to.  You know.  Cleaning.  Weeding the flower beds.  The not-fun stuff.  Ah well, maybe next weekend!

This card is going into the challenge at Unscripted Sketches #155.  It's been a while since I played along, so it's about time :)  This week it's a Piggyback Challenge.  The additional challenge is to use something recycled.

My card ~

My "something recycled" is the cute yellow button.  It was in a jar of buttons that I bought at an estate auction.  Can you believe how closely the color matches my dotted paper?  Perfect!
Anyway, I've been in the mood to use some of these sweet, retro themed patterned papers from October Afternoon.  I figured this card is the perfect excuse (yeah, like I needed an excuse).  I chose 3 patterns and then added some machine stitching.  The sentiment panel was die cut.  And that final touch was the vintage button, tied with some twine.  Yup.  I'm likin' it :)

Thanks so much for taking a look!

What's in it?
card stock: confetti cream (SU)
stamp: mother's day (Stampendous)
patterned paper: modern homemaker 8 x 8 pad (October Afternoon)
other: rectangle die (Spellbinders), twine, vintage yellow button from an old button jar, foam tape, scor-tape, pop-up glue dot, sewing machine, thread
