hello - Watercolor Class Day 1

I'm taking my first Online Card Class - Watercolor for card makers.  I've heard such good things about the classes at OCC in the past, and I've wanted to participate, but I have so little time to spare.
When this class popped up in my Inbox though...I just had to sign up.  I haven't been able to keep up with the classes each and every day, but I'm really glad I jumped in this time.  I'm learning SO much!

In this post I'm sharing my card for Day 1 - Watercolor Backgrounds
My first attempt ended up in the wastebasket.  That's ok.  After a bit of practice, this is what I created.

Those blocks of color were created using a technique that Laura Bassen taught us.   This was a lot of fun!
After stamping my sentiments, I popped up the watercolor panel on the card base with foam tape.  A few sequins finish off the card.

I'll be back soon with a couple of cards for Day 2.  Thanks for stopping in!

  1. Susie, I love the colors you used on your card. Do you remember which colors you used. I love the dark to light and then the blue again in the upper right hand corner. Good Job.

  2. This is great, Susie. My first panel didn't do so well but I managed another one. It does take practice.
